Opera in the Pines: The Crucible

Each year, the dedicated team at Opera in the Pines brings a tasteful & creative production to the state of Maine. Building on the success of last year’s production of Bar Crawl Boheme, they decided to recreate the 1953 play; The Crucible, incorporating their own operatic & theatric flair.

Our goal with this branding session was to portray the feel of The Crucible, while also touching on the artistic expression that will be experienced at the live performance. A huge part of achieving this goal was working with ballet professional, Grace Koury, who is plays The Silenced Woman in the live production.

The photos for this branding session were taken in historical Cape Elizabeth, Maine, on a long, winding dirt road near the ocean. The location paired with the season of October, was nothing short of perfect for the aesthetic of this shoot. As Grace dressed the part of The Silenced Woman, she also brought her own unique flair with her skillful ballet. We were able to capture the perfect balance of innocence, elegance, & dramatized freight that is The Crucible.
